Unique, alternative approaches to embracing Friluftsliv, a Norwegian term for “free air life” or “simple life in Nature”.
We teach, learn & experience outdoor education differently.
-
Friluftsliv is a Norwegian tradition meaning “free air life” or “simple life in Nature” and is a practice of being engaged with Nature in a physically active way. We believe the benefits to mental and physical health go beyond exercise alone, as time in Nature is shown to be a strong antidote to many mental health issues.
-
We believe that Nature is the ultimate classroom for all ages. The Wasatch and Uinta mountains offer endless opportunities for immersion into the patterns and rhythms of Nature.
-
We believe everyone needs to be both independent and a good team member to safely and responsibly enjoy time outdoors. Our experiential approach to outdoor education allows students to learn vital outdoor skills while practicing team building and leadership in a real outdoor setting.
-
We believe the Norwegian tradition of “friluftsliv” can help any and all members of the community. We also believe it is our responsibility to protect and responsibly enjoy the areas we so cherish.
